We appreciate our colleague Foster's (2010) through and thoughtful commentary on our article "Suppression of Racial Dispatities for Children with Special Health Care Needs among Families Receiving Medicaid" (Rose, Parish, Yoo, Grady, Powell and Hicks-Sangster, 2010). Our study design and data enabled us to test our hypothesis that Black Families raising children with special health care needs (CSHCN) who receive Medicaid are better off than those who do not receive Medicaid.
