This article explores a student-centred pedagogy in a technology-rich learning environment and seeks to uncover the important role of instructional technology in improving Chinese students’ reading proficiency in English. After introducing the development of information and communications technology (ICT), the author discusses the implications of technological advances for English language learning at her institution.
