Isi artikelThis paper focuses its attention on the language attitude of native speaker of Lampungic language. The data used is the result of survey the writer conducted when joining SIL International in West Indonesia Survey Team. From 2003 to 2007 this team conducted the field research in 27 areas of use of Lampungic language in Lampung and West Sumatera provinces. The method employed to collect the data for this research is based on Rapid Appraisal Research model, which is mainly developed for language assessment. With regard to the integrative function, there is a tendency that Lampungic people have positive attitude towards their language. Meanwhile, with reference to instrumental function, there is a tendency that they have negative attitude towards their language and positive attitude towards Bahasa Indonesia. With reference to the existence of local language texts, their responses are of three kinds: positive, negative and ambivalent. The result of analysis of language attitude by using RA-RTT (Rapid Appraisal-Recorded Text Test) indicates that there is no sole variety regarded as the best variety or variety used as a reference for all Lampungic language. This shows the possibility of difficulties to standardize Lampungic language.
