This article reviews the literature on noncustodial parents to discuss issues that are major ramifications for researchers, policiymakers, and practitioners. Implica7S of the literature are discussed, gaps knowledge are highlighted, and areas for He research are identified, Integration of search and study by the multiple involved in this area is recomended to make appropriate changes in so policy and institutions, and to develop effective interventions. Further search is needed to investigate the rapid :hanging demographic composition of American society and to develop more efective models of family life and development.
