Background In Indonesia, TB treatment’s success rate reaches 84%, however, the number of TB patiens are increasing. Doctors also have a role in this situation. The education which a doctor received as pre-clinical student is one of the factors in determining doctor’s ability and skill. Objectives To measure the knowledge and attitude of pre-clinical medical students about TB; analyzing the relation between knowledge and TB preventive behavior; analyzing the relation between attitude and TB preventive behavior. Methods This study uses descriptive-analytic design with cross-sectional sampling. The respondents are 195 students of faculty of medicine in Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia with stratified random sampling. Respondents were asked to answer a questionnaire to determine their knowledge, attitude, and TB preventive behavior level. Results and Summary 47,7% of respondents got more than 75% answers correct in knowledge questions, 61,5% of the respondents got attitude score more than 75% of total score, and 64,1% of the respondents got TB prevention behavior score more than 75% from total score. Analysis with Chi Square test showed meaningful relationship between knowledge and TB preventive behavior. The relation test between respondents’ attitude and TB preventive behavior also showed a meaningful result ( p < 0,05). |
