The study empoys a nonparametric produre to ascertain the informational content of asset denities in understanding various intrahousehold issue faced by husbands and wives. Using survey data collected in Bangladesh and employing a nonparametric test, we find that gifts at merriage have informational content as proxy for intrahousehold power.
