One thing that affect smoking cessation program offering from doctors is motivation to quit smoking of the patient itself. Therefore, researcher wants to know more about the association between motivation to quit smoking and smoking cessation program offering. Obectives: Proving that there is association between motivation to quit smoking and smoking cessation program offering by medicine specialist in RSUP Persahabatan, assess the proportion of motivation to quit smoking among smokers, assessing the proportion of patients with nicotine dependence who was being offered smoking cessation program, and proving that patients who have high motivation to quit smoking level will have bigger chances to be offered smoking cessation program by their medicine specialist. Methods: The research was done cross sectionally to 48 patients of medicine specialist with nicotine dependency in RSUP Persahabatan in 2017. The Patient’s dependence of nicotine was assessed with Fagerstorm Test for Nicotine Dependence (FTND), patient’s motivation to quit smoking was assessed with Contemplation Ladder and smoking cessation program offering was also assessed with questionnaire. Results: Bivariate Fisher exact test didn’t show any association between motivation to quit smoking and smoking cessation program offering. (p = 0,146; p > 0,05). Conclusions: There is no association between motivation to quit smoking and smoking cessation program offering by medicine specialist in RSUP Persahabatan.
