Depression in elderly is commonly found in nursing homes. Severe depression is associated with the incidence of falling in elderly. Falling is one of the cause of death in elderly. The aim of this study is to find out the correlation between depression and falls risk among elderly. Methods : This study used cross-sectional study design. Subjects who particiated in this study were people living in Budi Mulia Nursing Home . Depression was examined by the use of Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), meanwhile falls risk assessed with Berg Balance Scale (BBS). Results : From 33 respondents, 27.3% had depression dan 6.1% had moderate falls risk. Result analyzed with Fisher test showed no correlation between depression and falls risk among elderly in Budi Mulia Nursing Home Jakarta (p=1).
