Isi artikel
Employing Derrida's notion of différance in the reading of Freud's Beyond the Pleasure Principle, this essay interprets the relation between the pleasure principle and the death drives as a non-oppositional otherness. It will inquire into the necessity of searching for an other to the pleasure principle and show how Freud's step beyond the pleasure principle necessitates both the preservation of the pleasure principle and its fissure along the opposition between the death drives and eros. Moreover, the step beyond the pleasure principle involves not just the doubling of pleasure but also of the death drives and if eros.
