The study to describe and compare a set of related linguistic metaphors across two languages. The term of metaphors was chosen since a powerful claim of conceptual metaphors theory is that the most central central metaphors are grounded in bodily experience (Deignan & Potter: 2004). It might be expected that these metaphors would be shared by different languages. The writer used a computerized corpus: British National Corpus (BNC) s. The writer uses some Indonesian publishing for data analysis, namely, Keraf (1994) and Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI). The paper uses the word heart in both English and Indonesian metaphors. This study employs two –fold analysis adapted from Adolphs (2006). Both corpora consists contemporary text: in written material. The proportion allotted to various genres differs in the two corpora. The result of the research shows that in English and Indonesia metaphors, the heart has similar and different metaphors. (1) The similar meaning of English metaphors of the word heart is in the context, such as, the heart of gold, broken heart, from the bottom of my heart. While, (2) the different choice of words is that Indonesian metaphors for the word heart is sometimes interchangeable of the word hati and jantung.
