In Indonesia, Tuberculosis place fifth that can be cause of death. Tuberculosis can be influence by so many things, one of the example is smoking behavior. This research is made to prove that there is association between smoking behavior and pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods : This research was held in 2017 analytically using case-control study. Research’s sample using medical records from Atma Jaya’s Hospital, Jakarta (n=108). The case sample include all medical records from patient who has pulmonary tuberculosis either she or he was a smoker or not. Meanwhile the control sample taken from patient’s medical records who doesn’t have pulmonary tuberculosis either she or he was a smoker or not. Data processing using McNemar test with significance level of p<0,05. Result : Smoker percentage from who suffer pulmonary tuberculosis is 78,6% (33 cases) and 21,4% (9 cases) non-smoker from the total cases of 42. Smoker percentage who doesn’t suffer pulmonary tuberculosis is 45,5% (30 control) and 54,5% (36 control) who are a non-smoker from the total control of 66. There is an association between smoking behavior and pulmonary tuberculosis. (p = 0,01, OR=3,33, CI=95%). Conclusion : There is an association between smoking behavior and pulmonary tuberculosis.
