Isi artikel
The article by Collings and Kemp (2010), "Death Knock, professional practice, and the public good: The media experience of suicide reporting in New Zealand,"in this issue of Social Science & Medicine makes very interesting reading. It reports on a qualitative study involving 15 New Zealand newsapaper, television and radio journalists who had prepared a story on suicide. These journalists were interviewed about the factors they weighed up when deciding to report on suicide, their experiences with preparing the story, and their perceptions of the impact of media reporting of suicide more generally. Particular emphasis was given to New Zealand's guidelines on the reporting suicide.
