Indonesia was ranked the fourth country with the highest DM burden in the world. In the year of 2000, among 8,4 millions Indonesian citizens were diagnosed by DM. This number is predicted to be risen by 2030, reaching 21% of the total population. Methods: The design of this study was descriptive analytic with cross-sectional approach. 150 samples were taken by stratified random sampling method from citizens who live in sector 1 to 7 Tambora, West Jakarta. Respondens were >12 years old. These people were given a questionnaire to determine the level of knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding DM disease. Result: Results of univariate analysis showed 82.7% of people had a good level of knowledge of DM, 78.7% of people had a positive attitude regarding DM, and 79.3% of people had a good practice of DM prevention. Bivariate analysis using Chi Square test showed an association between the knowledge level of DM with practice of DM prevention (p = 0.000) and there is a relationship between the attitude of people towards practice of DM prevention (p = 0.000). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge level towards practice of DM prevention and there is a significant relationship between attitude towards practice of DM prevention.
