The potential negative impacts of mining are forest destruction, environmental pollution, human rights abuses and denial of existence of communal land. Although mining industry is still potential to improve the prosperity of the nation, development based on exploitation of natural resources causes economic deterioration and environment destruction. The role of the state is in need to set a rule of game intended to achieve social prosperity through cooperation of all stakeholders enabling it to improve their welfare.
