Sorry. It wasn't too much of a mouthful for Chancellor Angela Merkel when she recently addressed the Israeli parliament and acceptedGermany's responsibility for the holocaust. Pope Benedict XVI is getting good at saying it: in 2006 he apologised to the entire Muslim world for insulting Islam and was expected to make an apology for the sexual abuse of children by priests when he visited australia last week. The Aussies even have an unofficial National Sorry Day in remembrance of the mistreatment of Aboriginals.
