According to the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), women occupy only 14.3 percent of the total members of parliament as the average global percentage of women who become members of perliament. The problem in this paper is why there are still many obstacles and challenges for Minangkabau women in parliament. The purpose of this paper is to discuss and to motivate the women to obtain political rights, economic, social majority and minority rights in society and politics. The method used library research and supported by other data. It can be concluded that Minangkabau women actually have a big enough opportunity to get involved in politics, but with the changing times and pemarjinalan that has occureed for centuries in Minangkabau cause the position of women in politics is always low and lost.
