Isi artikelThe purpose of this paper is to present suggestions for intervention strategies found to be useful for children exhibiting coexisting stuttering and phonological disorders. Six guiding principles form the basis for clinical management: (1) the use of an indirect phonological approach; (2) employing a phonological process approach; (3) the use of direct fluency modification techniques; (4) the concurrent application of phonological and fluency principles; (5) parental involvement; and (6) the use of a group setting. Specific guidelines for selection of target processes and target sounds are discussed together with fluency modification techniques.
