Body Mass Index (BMI) is simple method to a calculate individual nutritional status. Overweight in female has been associated with sexual hormon abnormality in female. This abnormality cause menstruation cycle disorders. The objective of this study is to understand The association between BMI with dysfinctional uterine bleeding in perimenopausal woman at Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Hospital from January 2007 - May 2009. This is an analitic observational study with prospectif cohort design. This study used 64 subject as reseach sample, devided into exposed groups and non exposed groups with 32 subject alocated into each group. Saples were taken from the population using purposive sample method. The independent variable for this study is overweight while the dependent variable is dysfinctional uterine bleeding. Confounding factors which are included in analisis are parity history, abortus history and age. Chi-square (XS) test and risk rellative are used in bivariate analysis. The result of the study show that overweight is signijcant predictor for dysfunctional uterine bleeding (p = 0,024, RR = 3,215 (95% CI= 1,150 - 8,987).
