lethal disease which one of them is COPD. Tobacco Advisory Group of the Royal College of Physicians claim that smoker patient with COPD, must get a smoking cessation program offering by his doctor. Responding to that claim, scientist wants to know more about the association between nicotin dependant patient with COPD and smoking cessation program offering by medicine specialist.
Objective: To know the association association between Nicotin Dependant Patient’s with COPD and smoking cessation program offering by the specialist in RSUP Persahabatan.
Methods: the research was done cross sectionally to 48 patients of medicine specialist with nicotine dependency in RSUP Persahabatan in 2017. The Patient’s dependence of nicotine was assessed with Fagerstorm Test for Nicotine Dependence (FTND), nicotin dependant patient with COPD status was assessed with checking the medical record of the patient.
Results: Statistic Fisher test showed strong association between Nicotin Dependant Patient’s with COPD and smoking cessation program offering. (p = 0,032; p < 0,05).
Conclusions: There is a significant association between patient nicotin dependant with COPD and smoking cessation program offering that done by his medicine specialist in RSUP Persahabatan (p=0,032). |
