The objectiveof this study is to find out the relationship between parents perception on school achievementand children achievement at primary school at Ampana Kola. Study design was cross sectional.Twohundred primary school children were included from 4200 primary school children in the area. Data of school achievement was collected from the average grades of all subjects and eachsubject during 3 ongoing quarters. Total grades of the three-quarters available were used. Perceptionwas measured using questionnaire, which include school achievement and the priority su6jecteach student, which were fulfilled by parents at home. Information and management for all questionnaireswere carried out in Yogyakarta. The result revealed that one hundred ninety eight data information was filling in the requirements for analysis. Parental perceptions on children schoolachievement were divided into low and high. In general the lawer the parental perception ontheirchildren's school achievement, the actual school achievement of their children were also lower.Howeverthe only subject that statistically different is math (p < 0.05). Parental perceptions toschoolachievement were related to the school achievement of the students. (Jurnal Epidemiologi Indonesia.2000. 4:2: 19-24)
