The objective of this study was to find out the relationship between symptoms and signs of worm infestation, and the incidence of worm infestation using cross-sectional study design. Two hundred primary school children were randomly selected from the 4200 total population of school children in the area. Their stools were examined using direct method. Data on symptoms and, signs of the worm disease during the last month were collected using questionnaires administered to parents. Data was analyzed using chi-square and odd-ratio. It was revealed that the risk of being vomited on Trichuriasis is 2.7 times more than with no Trichuriasis (p=0.043). On the only Trichuriasis infestation, children's appetite was significantly decreasing (OR=4.140; CI 95%:1.222-15.280). The risk of malnutrition based on the height/age was significantly higher on the Ascaris infestation (OR=4.140; CI 95%:1.122-15.280). Although inconclusive (CI 95% including value I), some other symptoms show the risk of higher incidence on worm infestation. It was concluded that symptoms and signs of worm disease were varied and complex. The symptom of loss appetite and vomiting were happened more on the Trichuriasis. Malnutrition was suffered by children with Ascaris infestation. Although inconclusive, some symptoms could be related with the incidence of worm infestation.
