Prevalence and Epidemiological Rate on Worm Disease among Primary School Children at Ampana Kota Kabupaten Poso, Sulawesi Tengah Tonny Sadjimin. The objective of this study was to obtain the prevalence and epidemiological data on worm disease using cross-sectional study design. Two hundred primary school children were randomly selected from the 4200 total population of primary school children in the Sub district of Ampana Kota. Stools of 198 children were examined for geohelminth's egg using a direct method. The characteristics data for children, parents, and social economic status were collected using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using t-test and chi-square. It was revealed that worm infestation was primarily suffered by children in Grade 4, 5, and 6 and older. Parents income per month and the education attainment of mothers for those who received Ascariasis and Trichuriasis were significantly lower than those who were not infected (p<0.05). The incidence of Ascariasis and Trichuriasis among children whose mothers were house wives was significantly lower compared to those with mothers who were working (p<0.05). It was concluded that the incidence of worm infestation especially happened to older children in the higher grades. The parents' low social economic status and mothers' low education were related with the increase of Ascariasis and Trichuriasis incidences (Jurnal Epidemiologi indonesia2000,4:J: J-8)
