Mangrove Rhizophora mucronata is used by peole in Mantehage Island asa medicineto facilitate blood clotting of wounds. It has been extracted from mangrove Rhizophora mucronata and examined the blood clotting and its toxic effect. To examine the blood clotting,human blood was taken. put into tubes and mixed with the extract of mangrove Rhizophora mucronata. To examine its toxic effect, blood smear was prepared by. mixing the blood and extract with a final consentration of 10%. The result showed that blood clotting caused by extract mangrove Rhizophora mucronata was faster 1.5 minutes than the physiologis one. On blood smear,blood cells was still intact. Conclusion:mangrove Rhizophora mucronata facilitates the clotting timeandit is not toxic to the blood cells.
