Abstract
Background : Internet addiction is a disruptive form of internet use that cannot be controlled. This act can cause inconvenience to the surrounding environment. Internet addiction can effect in having a low learning motivation impact as well as behavior and emotional issues.
Objective : To determine the influence of internet addiction on learning motivatio, behavior and emotional problems of private junior high school students in Penjaringan district.
Method : This is cross section study of 368 private junior high school students of Penjaringan district. Respondents fill out demographic questionnaires, internet addiction test questionnaires, motivational study test questionnaires, and questionnaires of strength and difficulty in children. Using univariate and bivariate data analysis.
Result : 130 respondents has internet addiction. 35.3% has low learning motivation. 99 respondents (76.2%) has behavioral and emotional problem. Out of 106 respondents (81.5%), 70.8% has conduct problem, 61.8% has friendship problem, and 51.5% has hyperactivity problem.
Conclusion : 35.3% private junior high school students in Penjaringan district has Internet addiction. 76.2% have low learning motivation and 81.5% experienced behavior and emotional problems.
