Abstract
Trash is one of the biggest problem in capital city of Indonesia Jakarta. Basically, most of the existing garbage produced by households with a percentage of 53% compared to 47% of industrial waste. The household waste itself is divided into organic and inorganic waste. This makes handling of waste are very important. Some of the waste can be overcome naturally and the other can not be processed naturally. One of them is plastic waste. The use of plastics in everyday life can not be avoided. With proper handling and recycling of plastic waste, it will certainly help solve this problem. In this study the researchers conducted a case study at the PLN residential, Jatinegara district urban village which amounts to 60 homes with the production of waste 1.5 kg to 2 kg per day. Therefore, it necessary to make tools that can destroy and help the process of recycling plastic. In this study, the authors conducted the development of the garbage enumerator tools that have been made before and do some visit with conducting some interviews to local residents associated with the wishes and shortcomings of previous tools to be developed. In this study the researcher used several data processing reviews such as Functional Decomposition Diagram to describe the desired functions, Morphological Chart for alternative concept selection, Dan Pugh's Concept Selection to assess and perform concept selection. The selected concept uses a S45C steel-grade stratified blade, with a 2200 watt electric motor with a 1400 rpm motor, the use of a trapezoid prism-shaped input funnel, a chain-shaped clutch operation, the addition of a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) feature to assist household usage, as well as the addition of wheels to facilitate this tool mobilization.
