The samples of the research were 46 listed companies in Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX). By this research we can understand that most listed companies in Indonesia do their environmental concern driven mainly by two important reasons, namely external regulation and internal cost reduction. It is likely true that listed companies are more driven by passive and conventional motives rather than active and proactive reasons in their activities related to the environmental issues. The findings also show that most listed companies have not yet enough environmental concern, since if they have any initiatives related to environmental issues, such as training for their main supplier and consumers. It seems that it is related to their internal interest, which is profit, rather than external and broader concern on environment itself.
