Abstract
Otto engine is one of the most widely used engine in vechicle, either car or motorcycle used Otto engine to convert fuel energy become mechanical energy for moving the vechicle. Atma Jaya’s mechanical engineering department had teknik kendaraan course and konversi energi course that discuss about Otto engine. However, from the interview conducted with course’s instructor, the instrument such as test bench, to help the students to learn about Otto engine is not availible yet. To help student learn about Otto engine, the work bench is designed to test volumetric efficiency and engine power loss. The design method start from clarificationof task, conceptual design, embodiment design, and detail design. The next step is manufactur process to construct the test bench. From the design, the test bench has been successfully constructed to test volumetric efficiency and engine power loss.
