Abstract
One type of vertical axis wind turbine is the darrieus wind turbine, which has the highest coefficient performance (30-40%) compared to the other vertical axis wind turbine type, one of the advantages of darrieus wind turbine that has a high number of turbine rotations, but darrieus wind turbine has disadvantages is the torque generated from this type of turbine is very small
From the simulation that has been done, shows the result that double blade wind turbine with angle of attack -4o and additional distance of airfoil 0.3 m can produce higher torque that is 0.57 Nm > wind turbine torque (Minoru Noda, 2009) is 0.23 Nm. However the value of Cp wind turbine (double blade) is 1.3%
