| Urban category of green car is the car category of the competition held annually by DIKTI, which is Green Car Competition. In the competition, urban category the car should have features that similar with common cars, example the car should have four wheel, head and tail lights, and wiper. Another category is concept, which the car shouldn’t have similar features with common cars. This competition beside competing to build the cars, the student are also competing to find solutions in the form of technology that can reduce fuel consumption in vehicles that applied to cars that have been made. In this thesis will discuss the engineering process of building urban category cars, which have component namely chassis, engine, transmission, body, arms vehicles, and wheel. The design process will be the selection of materials, calculation of dimensions and analyze stress and deformation. The chassis that has been designed in accordance with the technical regulations and are qualified in strength and stiffness. So the chassis has been made in this final declared safe against loading. |
