Student Affairs, Faculty of Engineering, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia is a field that takes care of activities undertaken by students, such as collecting student achievements data, scholarship recipient data and activities held by student organizations of Faculty of Engineering. Now, Head of Student Affairs Division uses Google Drive system which is an online storage medium. However, the disadvantage of using Google Drive system is Google Drive system can only be for storage media without being able to integrate any information saved in it. In addition, users should process the information manually which is time-consuming for making student affairs report. Based on the situation, the purpose of this study is to design a student information system for student affairs, Faculty of Engineering, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. This study begins with analyzing the current system to find the problems, making the requirement determination for each user, making the Data Flow Diagram and Entity Relationship Diagram, making CRUD matrix, and designing the display of information system based on user needs. The information system needs to be validated to find out whether the display and the function are based on user’s request. After that, information system is constructed and verified whether the system is running according to its function. The proposed information system has many outputs such as monitoring display for proposal’s status, reporting display for organization performance report and student achievement report, transcript for students, proposal for student organization and the reports can be exported to Microsoft Excel. In addition, the proposed information system is also integrated between each process so that it will be easier for user to get information. From the Wilcoxon statistical test, the system is easy to learn with the decrease of time for each test conducted. It will be good if the system can be compatible for smartphones and other browsers and making the manual book more detail for user to understand the system. |
