Gregson's objection to Bateson's neglecting "the intrinsic mathematics" and Diorio's allegation of Bateson's self-contradictions, are balanced by Maas' admiration for the attempt to map the mind from inside and out, and by Booth's assertion that Bateson's marriage of the studies of the sciences and the humanities is the way forward.
