Average prevalance rate of depression disorder and anxiety disorder in general population is about 6%. Middle age population, especially medical student group, have high prevalence rate of depression disorder and anxiety disorder. This is caused by over amount of stressor that add to the mental stress. Objective : This study aim to map the severity of the depression and anxiety disorder among the student of the faculty of medicine in Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. Methods : This is a survey conducted on preclinical student of Atma Jaya Faculty of Medicine in year 2015/2016. The depression and anxiety disorder is diagnosed by using MINI ICD-10 and the severity of that disorder is measured with HAM-D and HAM-A. Results : The result of this study show that the prevalence of depression and anxiety in the students are 16.5% and 25% respectively. The incidence rate for mild depression disorder is 53.5%, for moderate depression disorder is 34.9%, and for severe depression disorder is 11.6%. The incidence rate for mild anxiety disorder is 56.9%, for moderate anxiety disorder is 35.4%, and for severe anxiety disorder is 7.7%. Conclusions : This study show that the prevalence of depression and anxiety disorder among preclinical student of Atma Jaya Faculty of Medicine is higher than the general population.
