Isi artikelBateson's use of concepts in cybernetics and systems theory are critically examined. It is indicated by example that his conceptual grasp of cybernetic theory is not adequate to pursue his attempted analyses. Only with a fuller understanding and use of the quantitative methodology of cybernetics could Bateson have said anything of substantial content and coherence.
