Corrosion is often a problem in automotive circles, due to a variety of damage and accidents while driving. Therefore, developments in manufacturing technology is one that must be considered to improve the safety and comfort. In this case the manufacturing process in the field of materials in use as a benchmark to reduce the magnitude of the corrosion rate. One of the causes of corrosion is due to the rolling direction (anisotropic) in steels Mn (Manganese). Directions rolling can affect the rate of corrosion that occurs in a material with transverse or longitudinal direction. Isotropic nature very favorable in the formation of automotive material, requires us to make the anisotropic properties become isotropic. Anisotropy in the plate rolling results will be very dominant influence on its mechanical properties, but need further verification in terms of corrosion resistance, especially in non-uniform corrosion attack. On this basis, the authors are interested to serve as the topic of thesis, namely corrosion occurs on manganese steel due to the rolling direction are anisotropic. |
