Abstract
Various kind of disasters occur unexpectedly. Disasters could take place anytime and anywhere, either natural or man made. Natural disasters cause buildings to collapse due to landslide, earthquake, or tsunami, whereas man made disasters are caused by humans, such as the Chernobyl disaster. Surveillance and SAR (Search and Rescue) is necessary for field survey and to look for survivors. Those tasks are sometimes impossible to achieve by humans due to the environmental condition such as radiated environment or extreme terrain. Therefore, an idea is come up to deploy an unmanned vehicle in place of humans to complete the tasks at the extreme location. The unmanned vehicle consists of a ground robot controlled wirelessly and equipped with microcontroller and robot arm to clear obstacles (debrises) and door opening.
