PT. Yanmar Diesel Indonesia is a company that manufactures diesel engine. In the present condition of PT. Yanmar Diesel Indonesia is able to produce 300 units per day of diesel engine from the production area. But in this area it was found that the actual end of the packing area can produce 400 units but restrained by the assembly area that can only produce 300 units. This is the main problem in this study. This study aims to provide the layout proposed for the company's production area. But to increase the capacity of this area, an expansion of area is needed. This expansion requires an area that is now filled by the engine of the machine shop area so it needs to be reduced. The discovery of the layout proposed for the machine shop area which can provide a reduction in the area of use is also a goal of this research. Reduction of machine shop area is done by three methods approach which are process layout, cellular layout, and modular layout. As for the assembly area of the approaches is the product layout with line balancing method. The layout of the suggestions given to the company's machine shop area is to apply a cellular layout with a reduction of 101.0285 m2 area and a decrease in material handling costs amounting to 19.41%. Found fulfillment in the production area of 400 production units with an increase in revenues of 529%. |
