In this article, we attempt to discuss the important differences for the researchers/developers of both CBI and CAI to better understand the respective current state and needs of computer-delivered instructional systems developed by the other scientific community. The purpose of this article is to stimulate combined and cooperative efforts between researchers/developers in AI (including ICAI) and instruction (including CBI) for the development of future computer-delivered instructional systems.
