PT.DIC Astra Chemical runs colorant manufacturing business, which is applicable to plastic, textile, paint, and plywood. PT.DIC Astra Chemical is using corrective maintenance system, which means the spare part will be replaced only when the machine is broken. This policy makes downtime longer and affecting the machine’s availability. Based on this problem, PT. DIC Astra Chemical needs to change their maintenance system, the proposed system is preventive maintenance. To run this system, first able must decide which machine will be the focus of this research, and we got extruder machine. After that we have to find which components are the main caused of these failures on this extruder machine base on the downtime value and failures frequency of each component. And based on that we got heater is a critical component. From the result of calculation, it turn out the downtime of heater component for 1..05 hours/mount can still optimized to a minimum of 0.75 hours/ mount or decreased 28.5% by take preventive inspection every 478.324 hours or 19 days and do the preventive replacement every 540 hours or 22 days. |
