Abstract
PT. X is a company focused in the transportation services. PT. X facilitates the customers to make delivery of various kind of goods. PT.X has 32 stations spread throughout Indonesia. In the present study, researchers conducted a study on one station only. This study has the objective to analyze the optimal distribution system for PT.X. With three alternatives given that all the delivery and collection of goods carried by different fleets, all delivery and collection of goods is done with the same fleet, and all delivery and collection of goods is done with the same fleet with the determination made on every loop. Using the method of saving matrix and a knapsack with the approach distance and time. The results of data processing is optimal distribution route and optimal fleet capacity. Optimization of distance or time saving matrix obtained by the saving matrix method and optimization of capacity obtained by the knapsack method. This is also done otherwise to determine the most optimal. After that calculated the cost of distribution of the three alternatives given. The results of the cost calculation indicates that the most optimal distribution cost is the second alternative, that is all delivery and collection of goods is done with the same fleet. But in a penalty charge of distribution costs and depreciation expense excluding vehicles accounted because those costs is not a real value for money which will be company spends. Distribution costs calculation results also show sufficient imbalance between each loop distribution costs or delivery region.
