Abstract
Scheduling is the main basis in the world of manufacturing. Scheduling has the objective to regulate the allocation of company resources so that productivity can be increased. PT. Morita Tjokro Gearindo (PT. MTG) is a manufacturing company that produces gear. PT MTG does not have scheduling method that can reduce the delay in delivery orders. The Delays in delivery orders cause the company suffered financial losses. PT MTG need to make changes in production scheduling method to reduce delays in delivery orders and reduce the risk of financial losses. This research attempts to provide 2 recommendations to improve the production scheduling problems. The recommendations of scheduling method are Johnson algorithm method and Enumeration algorithm method. This research purpose to analyze the current scheduling system, analyzing the comparison results from the two methods of scheduling and provide the best scheduling results based on the criteria of minimizing flowtime. The Job Scheduling software in WinQsb assist in data processing so that the calculations can be done in a short time with a small error rate. This research using a purchasing orders in period of February 2016 for 20 types of gear products which are divided into 3 production line. The results of data processing in this research is the chosen of the Enumeration Algorithm as the best method with the job sequence in Line 1 for due date February 2, 2016 is J - H - A - I - F with the flowtime 109.834 seconds and the job sequences for the due date February 16, 2016 is G - B - C - E - D with the flowtime 97.904 seconds. The Job sequences in Line 5 is L - N - O - K - M with the flowtime 133.157 seconds. And the Job sequences in Line 8 is S - Q - P - T - R with the flowtime 104.816 seconds.
