Isi artikel
Cell growth and development requires cell proliferation through a controlled mechanism. If cell exits from normal mechanism pathway, it will form cancer cell having ability to continuously proliferate. The objective of this article is to discuss the cell growth and development in detail. The data collected from library research and analyzed descriptively. The conclusions are that in normal process the cell will experience death which functions to improve cell and release damaged cell. For proliferating, the cell enters the cycle where the cell will be multiplicated which is similar to somatic cell and involves cell growth component and arranges division to divide into two new cells. Normally cell cycle covers to conditions, namely proliferative/mitosis/M phase, quiescent/Go phase and permanently does not divide. Dividing cancer cell is located in phase without GO, namely G1, S (synthesis), G2 and M (mitosis). Cell cycle regulation mechanism requires some genes and proteins such as oncogen, suppressor genes, cyclin, CDKS, CKIs; while apoptosis process requires proteins such as p53, caspase, Bcl-2, Apaf. Apoptosis process can be induced by intrinsic and extrinsic process
