Isi artikelKangkung or water spinach (Ipomoea sp) is a akind of vegetable which is cultivated and watered with Pb contaminated water from the nearby river or pond in the cities in Indonesia. Land kangkung (Ipomoea reptans) was planted in hydroponic media, and watered with Multigrow Complete Pland Food (2000 mg/L) and Pb solution (2 mg/L) twice a aday. Samples were taken based on the age of 54 days and the twigs and leaves were boiled in two differents ways: I. Kangkung was added to boiling before cooking. II. Kangkung was added to cool water before cooking, then both of them was boiled for 5 minutes. The Pb content was measured by ICPS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer) Fison 3410+. Adding kangkung to cool water before cooking caused a lesser Pb content in kangkung compared to that by adding kangkung to boiling water prior cooking.
