Kangkung or water spinach (Ipomoea sp) is a vegetable which is used to be cultivated and watered with Pb contaminated water from the nearby river or pond in the cities. It is therefor necessary to study the method to analysed the Pb content in kangkung. Six-week old land kangkung (Ipomoea reptans Poir), cultivated in hydrophonic media mixed with Pb was used. Four methods werre used: Methode I and II: dry digestion at 500oC, and method III and IV: wet digestion at 100-120oC with 100 ppm Pb solution added before and after the process respectively. The Pb content was measured by ICPS. It can be concluded that method IV was best to analyse the Pb content in kangkung when the concentration of Pb is very low.
