Abstract
In the area of production, layout planning plays an important role in the passage of a manufacturing industry. PT BRS Standard Industry is a company engaged in manufacturing rolling door. Composition of the current layout facilities that since the inception and have never experienced turnover has not fully optimalized well and indeed has a potential possibility to redesign because the current layout is still far from the characteristics of a good layout. This statement is supported from the existing layout that one of that characteristics is the last process or finished goods warehouse is located far from the place to delivery. In addition, based on the calculation MHPS current layout is known that the material handling costs are Rp 212,553.6 with a total mileage are 1524.69 meters, and gives 210.96 minutes for total time of material movements. As for the purpose of this research are analyzing the production facilities layout performance for the current layout, designing a new layout as proposed repairs, as well as comparing the current layout with the proposed layouts.The process of designing proposed layouts is done by using construction algorithms (PLANET and Graph Theory) which improved by improvement algorithm (CRAFT). Based on calculations MHPS both proposed layouts, show that the layout of designed byPLANET method provides cost reduction to Rp 205,873.3 with a savings of 3.14%, a reduction of theswitching time becomes 203.6 minutes with a savings of 3.49 % as well as a reduction in isplacementdistance becomes 1406.9 meters with a savings of 7.73%. The layout of designed by Graph Theory provides cost reduction to Rp 197,661.7 with a savings of 7.01%, a reduction of the switching time becomes 195.4 minutes with a saving of 7.38% and a reduction in migration distance becomes 1303.8 meters with a savings of 14.49%.
