Tracer study conducted at Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya (UAJ) is an initiative initiated by the Bureau of Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Career Mentoring (BKAK) to maintain relationships and cooperation with UAJ graduates. At the same time, the results obtained from this tracer study would be a valuable evaluation of universities, especially regarding the faculties and the quality of their students in the workplace. Tracer study this year trying to reach the 1,730 graduates in 2014, from eight faculties, but the response rate is 28%. The method used for the tracer study is a quantitative method with snowball sampling technique to track the graduates. The instrument consists of five main parts, namely: demographic data, employment information, job search methods, further higher education information, and UAJ’s contribution. The results, most of the alumni have been working full-time. Most of the alumni work as private employees, entrepreneurs, and government. The job search method is through the internet. For UAJ’s contribution that still needs to be improved is the information technology skills. Feedback obtained from the respondents mostly regarding the questionnaire. The questionnaire should not be too long. Also, the social media network with final year students needs to be nurtured to maintain bonds of good relationship even after their graduation from UAJ. Also, the job fair is still necessary as a platform for graduates looking for work, even though they have been able to search the internet and through networking. |
