Abstract
Background : The level of awarness about influenza and its vaccine is still low Indonesia. Knowledge, attitude, and behaviour of influenza are required for the candidate of health worker. The information about knowledge, attitude, and behaviour can be given in several ways, such as student centered learning or lecture method.
Objectives : This study was aimed to know how far the differences of knowledge, attitude, and behaviour’s of influenza and its vaccine increasement in medical students of Atma Jaya Catholic University between jigsaw method and lecture method.
Methodology : Respondents come from medical students of Atma Jaya Catholic University batch 2016. This experiment use questionairre in form of pre and post test in both intervention. This study use Mann-Whitney method with 60 respondents that was choosen with random sampling.
Result: That result shows that there are the signifficant differences in percentation of attitude increasment between jigsaw and lecture, but there are no signifficant difference in knwoledge and behaviour. Mann-Whitney test shows that there are no signifficant differences in knowledge (p=0,75) and behaviour (p=0,54). And Mann-whitney test shows that there are signifficant in attitude (p=0,003)
Conclusions : Jigsaw as a student centered learning doesn’t give significant difference in increasment in knowledge and behaviour about influenza. Compared to lecture method, but it gives a significant difference in attitude about influenza. There are a lot of factors that affect student centered learning.
