Abstract
Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a infectious disease that still be a health problem in our society. TB is one of many diseases that have the highest prevalence in the world. 196.310 new cases of TB are found in 2013. Incident of TB is affected by many factors such as age, gender, education, income, Diabetes Mellitus, smoking habit, immunosuppressant condition (HIV/AIDS), contact history, renal failure, nutrition status, alcohol consumption, BCG vaccine history, and immunosuppressant
drug consumption
Objectives: This study was aimed to discover factors that affect the incident of Tuberculosis in Atma Jaya Hospital Jakarta
Methods: This observational analytic study with a case control approach was conducted in Atma Jaya Hospital Jakarta from October to December 2016.
Result: There were statistical significant between smoking habit, contact history, and BCG vaccine history to Tuberculosis incident. There were no statistical significant between age, gender, education, income, Diabetes Mellitus, renal failure, nutrition status, alcohol consumption, and immunosuppressant drug consumption to Tuberculosis incident.
Conclusion: In this study, smoking habit, contact history, and BCG vaccine history affect tuberculosis incident. Age, gender, education, income, Diabetes Mellitus, renal failure, nutrition status, alcohol consumption, and immunosuppressant drug
consumption do not affect Tuberculosis incident.
