Background : The most trauma in Indonesia is wound and often experienced by productive ages (25-45 years old). Estrogen play an important role in wound healing by regulating growth factors and proinflammatory cytokines in produce the extracellular matrix especially collagen. Aging process will make the estrogen level decreased in women, starting at the age of 40-50 years old, as perimenopausal period and begin disturb the healing process. Study in UK said that estrogen can increased collagen production in skin. Estrogen has good potentionals but on the other side, it can increase the risk of cancer. Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs) have the ability to bind with estrogen receptors and work agonist and antagonist to certain tissues. Methodology : This study is post test control only. This study used 32 female Wistar rats with eight month years old divided in 4 groups. K1 and P1 groups are 7 days control and treatment groups. K2 and P2 groups are 14 days control and treatment groups. Control groups were apply Gentamycin ointment 0,1%. Treatment groups were apply Gentamycin 0,1% ointment and topical tamoxifen 0,875%. The collagens were count by histological preparation. Results: K1 collagen mean percentage is 54,71%, P1 are 70,61%, K2 are 58,74%, and P2 are 68,26%. The study show that the collagens in treatment groups are higher than control groups. The analyzed by one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) show p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). There is a significance difference in all groups. Conclusions :The treatment groups, P1 and P2 have more higher collagen count than the control groups, K1 and K2. |
