Introduction : Neomycin sulfate and placenta extract gel is a common wound healing therapy. PRF is an autologous fibrin containing platelets in large quantities. PRF contains many growth factors which effect on epidermal thickness when injury occurs. Objectives : To investigate the role of PRF in epidermal thickness in incision wound of Rattus norvegicus. Method : This is an experimental study using 24 male Rattus novergicus divides into 4 groups, group 1 and 3 administered by neomycin sulfate and placenta extract gel, group 2 and 4 administered by PRF. Group 1 and 2 measured on day-7 and group 3 and 4 on day-14. Results : Epidermal thickness which administrated by PRF on day 7 and 14 show the average score 52,6±32,5 µm and 63,2±18 µm. Epidermal thickness which administered by neomycin sulfate and placenta extract gel on day 7 and 14 show the average score 27,3±13,7 µm and 27,5±8,3 µm. Data analysis using one-way ANOVA post hoc. Comparison between group 1 and 4 and group 3 and 4 statistically significant (p<0.05). Conclusion : Epidermal thickness in insicion wound administered by PRF improve higher than neomycin sulfate and placenta extract gel. |
