We can see that the prevalcen of diabetes is increasing everyday. There have been proven by several survey that conducted abroad and in Indonesia. Methods: The deisgn of this research is expreimental study and carried out using Sprague Dawley rats which were divided into 6 groups of 5 rats each. Blood glucose level test were conducted every 2 days after the induction of alloxan for 14 days. Results: Based on the data acquired, the usage of Abelmoschus esculentus extract can lower the blood glucose of the rat that already been induced by alloxan for 14 days. The data showed that on 2 group that get the Abelmoschus esculentus extract, we see the blood glucose reduction from 373mg/dL to 273mg/dL and from 441mg/dL to 227mg/dL. We also acquired data from 2 group that get the Momordica charantia extract, we see that the blood glucose reduction from 402mg/dL to 270mg/dL and from 471mg/dL to 256mg/dL. Conclusions: The usage of Abelmoschus esculentus extract and the usage of Momordica charantia extract proven can reduce the blood glucose level so it can be used as an alternative medication to treat diabetes disease.
